Independence Day is a precious occasion to remember and salute the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom, while also nurturing the rich and intimate heritage of Indian culture. A grand celebration of the 78th Independence Day was organized today at Vishv Umiyadham, Ahmedabad, to keep alive the legacy of the country's proud heritage of unity and integrity. The event saw the participation of 3,000 people, including 250 ex-servicemen. The program began with a National Flag rally, led by the Vishv Umiyadham family and students, from Vaishnavadevi to Vishv Umiyadham, featuring 1,000 National Flags.
The founder of the organization, President Shri R.P. Patel, along with Vice President Shri Prahladbhai (Kameshwar), General Secretary Shri Rupeshbhai Patel, Treasurer Shri Kantibhai Patel (Ram), Vice President Shri Deepakbhai Patel, Shri D. N. Gol, Shri Vadibhai Patel, other office bearers, donors, the entire youth team, as well as committee members, all participated in the flag hoisting ceremony.
The chief guest of the event was Shri P.P. Savani, Chairman of the Savani Group, Surat. Importantly, more than 250 ex-servicemen were present at Vishv Umiyadham, with a marching band of ex-servicemen saluting the National Flag. During the program, Shri R.P. Patel remarked that Vishv Umiyadham honored ex-serviceman Shri Kuldeep Yadav, who spent 30 years in a Pakistani jail, as well as 20 families of soldiers martyred during the Kargil War.
Additionally, students from Nalanda School – Shakti Vidyalaya of Ahmedabad city, along with students from Jaspur Primary School and A.K. Patel High School, also participated in the flag hoisting ceremony. The entire program was organized by Vishv Umiyadham Youth Association Chairman Shri Jitubhai Patel and his team.
