In the month of Shravan, free food was offered to 1.5 lakh Ma Umiya devotees. The construction of the Vishv Umiyadham, the world's tallest Jagat Janni Maa Umiya temple, is progressing rapidly in Jaspur, Ahmedabad. It is heartening to note that 1,000 male and female volunteers of Vishv Umiyadham served food to lakhs of devotees at Umaprasad. Every year, countless devotees are blessed with the opportunity to visit Maa Umiya's memorial temple.
For the past two and a half years, at the Vishv Umiadham temple, a perpetual fast called Umaprasadam has been ongoing for devotees visiting Maa Umiya from across the state and the world. This initiative began in 2022. The founder of the organization, President Shri R.P. Patel, stated that Umaprasad Sada Vrat was started with the noble intention that every devotee who comes to see Maa Umiya returns home with prasad. So far, more than ten lakh devotees have received food prasad.
During this Shravan month of 2024, more than 5,000 devotees availed themselves of this prasad daily, totaling over 1.5 lakh devotees who benefited from free food prasad. An important aspect of the Umaprasad is that it is supported not only by devotees from Ahmedabad but also by many devotees from all over Gujarat, who donate kitchen items, including rice, wheat, salt, and groceries. Additionally, many state dignitaries have made significant financial donations, contributing lakhs of rupees to support this noble cause.
